If you've been following along with me, the Matt Barré Group, you've probably noticed something new popping up lately: video. A few months ago, I launched a YouTube channel called Matt Barre - The Tucson Insider, and I wanted to take this week's blog to talk about why I started it, what you'll find there, and why it's become one of the projects I'm most excited about right now.

Why I Started It

I've spent years helping people move to Tucson and Southern Arizona, and the same question comes up again and again: "What is it actually like to live there?" Photos and listing sheets can tell you square footage and price, but they can't tell you what a neighborhood feels like, what the drive to the grocery store is like, or whether a community is going to fit your lifestyle. That gap is exactly what The Tucson Insider is meant to close.

A lot of my clients are relocating from out of state — sight unseen, in some cases — and making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives based on photos and a phone call. I wanted to give people something better than that: a way to actually see the homes, the neighborhoods, and the lifestyle before they ever book a flight out here. So I picked up a camera and started filming.

What You'll Find On The Channel

The Tucson Insider is built around home tours — 12 to 18 minute walkthroughs where I take you through real listings, room by room, and talk through what makes each property and each neighborhood worth a look. I'm not just walking through houses, though. Alongside the tours, you'll find:

Neighborhood breakdowns that go deeper than what you'd find on a listing site — the kind of on-the-ground detail you'd only get from someone who actually works these communities every day. Real estate market trends for Tucson and Southern Arizona, so you can understand not just what's for sale, but what's actually happening in the market. And general lifestyle content about life in Tucson — the things that make this place worth relocating to in the first place.

Every video is built to actually be useful, whether you're actively house hunting or just starting to think about a move to the area.

Why I'm Passionate About It

Honestly, this channel scratches an itch I've had for a while. I've spent a career translating what a home and a neighborhood really offer into something a client can act on with confidence, and video lets me do that at a scale a single conversation never could. Someone in Chicago or Seattle who's never set foot in Tucson can now spend fifteen minutes with me and walk away actually understanding a neighborhood.

There's also something deeply satisfying about being able to help someone before they've even become a client. A lot of people watching these videos aren't ready to buy yet — they're just trying to figure out if Tucson is right for them. Being able to give them real, honest information with nothing held back is exactly the kind of work I want to be doing.
